Best Training Shoes – In Our Opinion

Our two favorite general training shoes right now are our Vivo barefoot and Under Armour TriBase Reign trainers. We like them both but for different reasons, and knowing what you prefer in a training shoe will dictate which one is best for you. The biggest reason we like Vivo is how minimalist the shoe is in terms of its overall construction. The lack of material makes the shoe incredibly light and it truly makes it feel like there’s almost nothing on your feet. If you hate the “heaviness” that some shoes seem to have, then the Vivo brand is a great option for you. As for the Under Armour TriBase trainers, we love those because they’re a flat soled shoe that has a nice wide toe box. Some trainers feel restrictive in terms of how well they fit your fit (even if they’re the correct size), but the TriBase trainers are true to size and feel incredibly comfortable.

Shoes We Wouldn’t Recommend For Training

One general category of shoes that we would avoid training in when it comes to lower body days would be any sort of running shoe that has a soft and uneven sole. This obviously comes in handy when it comes to running, but in something like weight training where you’re mostly stationary we want to have something with a firm sole. You’ll have to worry less about balancing, and you’ll have significantly more output with a shoe that has a solid flat sole.
